Psalms 107:1-2 says, Oh, give thanks to the LORD,
for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed
of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy…
Every morning, from the time I was a toddler to the
time of my youth, my dad would wake me and my siblings up with a cheerful song
he had conjured up called, “Good Morning to You!”We looked forward to
hearing his voice each morning before he left our home to begin his day. The melodious
sounds of the variation of his baritone through tenor voice filled our home with
an awakening surprise. From his heart to our hearts, the joy that was within, was
sent our way as a sweet-smelling aroma that I will never forget. Dad had a cheerful
demeanor that sent a beautiful message to his family and to all who passed his
way. “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” He
understood this quote to the max because he had taken the time to understand
his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a compassionate life of love. Dad’s
song and his sanguine temperament allowed his family to know that he considered
us each morning.
God is the same with his children. He says to us “hello!”
and “good morning!” He delights in His children. He gives breath and new
mercies every morning! He wants us to delight in His sovereign will and share His
message with others. However, too often we fall fast asleep from the time we are
awaken. We wake up, but we close our eyes to His amazing love and His new mercies!
We walk by sight rather than faith. Therefore, our eyes are closed to His goodness
and grace. He tells us to walk by faith, rather than by sight (2 Cor. 5:7). Let’s be mindful that He is faithful to His people
and should be forever worshiped!
Psalms 107: 1-2 is a reminder that only the redeemed
can truly celebrate who God is in their lives. God is always good! He is always
merciful! He is always righteous! He is always just! He is the originator of love!
Yes, we are forever His redeemed people. He never loses heart on our behalf
because Jesus paid it all! Let’s be cheerful and celebrate our God by knowing
that it is a Good morning, every morning! Good Morning to You!!
Upon waking up, ask the Lord to:
- Make Himself known to you in a special way
- Give you a cheerful heart
- Open your eyes so that you may see the beauty of His wonderful works in His creation
LORD, help us to keep focused knowing that
it’s never a dull morning in Christ! Help us to celebrate your goodness and
your mercies each morning. Help us to let the world know that Jesus has saved
us from the hand of our enemy! Help us to remember that it is always a good
morning! In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
Encourage and Be Encouraged!
